Internships Rocco Fiore and Sons has a variety of internships in design, construction, and site management. The length of internships range from 3 months to 15 months. Our internship programs provide valuable "hands on" experience, project participation, and variety. We highly recommend the 15 month internship to take full advantage of this unique learning opportunity to work in the green industry.
The Design Internship allows the student to gain further knowledge and experience in the design/build sector of landscape architecture. Emphasis will be on performing site inventories, creating base maps, studying the design process, and developing final presentation packages including rendered master plans and perspective drawings. As a design/build firm we are able to offer our interns on-site studies of construction projects in progress, and review of numerous award winning completed projects. The Construction Internship provides the student with "hands on" experience in implementing the master plan design into a built landscape. Students will participate daily on a construction crew under the supervision of both a project manager and foreman, performing a variety of tasks including plant installation, drainage, seasonal floral displays, masonry, and more. This internship places emphasis on gaining knowledge of the design process, understanding various construction techniques, and being exposed to the daily requirements of managing a construction project. The Site Management Internship provides the student with a variety of practical "hands on" experience in the field of landscape management. Under the direction of our supervisors and foreman, interns will work daily on a site management crew performing a variety of tasks including turf care, seasonal annual bed and container installations, integrated pest management systems, annual and perennial garden care and more. The program includes on-site client interaction with exposure to project organization and budgeting. The internship emphasizes practical execution of various site management activities and their effect on the landscape as it matures. |
