The story begins in 1938 when Rocco Fiore, Sr., journeyed to America to work for his uncle, Charles Fiore, at the family nursery. Over the next nine years, he grew his knowledge of the landscape business…from working in the nursery fields to landscaping North Shore homes. Finally, in 1947, Rocco achieved one of his greatest ambitions – the establishment of his own company, Rocco Fiore & Sons.
Working initially out of his home in Highland Park, Rocco brought time honored values and old world craftsmanship to the job every day and the business grew. In 1960, the company purchased a five-acre parcel and moved to its current headquarters in Libertyville, Illinois, from where its design, construction and maintenance operations reside. In 1972, the “family” business grew when Rocco’s eldest son, Rocco Jr., joined to help manage the company. Rocco’s other son, Steve, joined them shortly thereafter.
Today, under the direction of Rocco, Jr. and Steve, the company has grown to nearly 300 employees, all of whom continue to provide the gold standard of service that has always been synonymous with our name. We are still driven by Rocco’s vision and guiding principles of delivering quality and value for our clients year in and year out.
